Safe import of Microsoft Office documents, PDFs and images

SAFE IMPORT OF MICROSOFT OFFICE DOCUMENTS, PDFS AND IMAGES

The most common document types can contain macros and executable objects, which can act as malware and therefore pose a risk to the receiver’s network. When working in a highly secure environment, such as a military or government organisation, this makes it challenging to safely receive Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), images and PDFs.

The most secure way to do this is to use Oakdoor™ Document Gateway that combines the Oakdoor ‘hardsec‘ security hardware with Glasswall’s Rebuild SDK.

The gateway de-constructs each file and verifies the data’s structure before importing it into the trusted network. If the data is unstructured, the Diode safely wraps the file, allowing safe handling prior to inspection and sanitisation before import to the trusted network.

The deconstruction means that any elements causing a threat are removed while keeping the visual content intact and editable.

Inspection, verification and file sanitisation runs on the market leading Content Disarm and Reconstruction (CDR) software from Glasswall Solutions Ltd.
